It draws on the emotional rawness of self-exploration and the tumultuous inner journey that must be undergone in order to both understand and express oneself. Gender is more than just a label, it is a living synthesis of everything that comprises the nuanced human being.
What Could've Been
This collection of photos was an experiment for myself to explore the themes of the teenage experience I was expecting to have as a child. Media plays a huge role in how we perceive our lives and future. So, as a kid surrounded by all of the y2k trends, I was expecting something much more like what is depicted in these images. However, times change and we don't always get the future we dream of.
